There will come a time in the Self-care Journey if you are serious about winning it will require you to give up somethings. But don't worry these 4 things are dead weight so once you let them go you'll feel lighter and able to soar. Below find 4 things to give up for Self-Care:
1. Excuses
Excuses are the thief of joy. You will talk yourself out of doing almost anything if you have an excuse. You can start self-care, it can be easy, and you can win. Instead of making excuses start saying affirmations of what you want. I.E I am treating myself well from here on. The best is yet to come.
2. Toxic People
You deserve peace of mind and toxic people will only bring you down. Instead choose to surround yourself around people who make you at least 1% better or doing the things you aspire, like taking care of their health and well-being. Surround yourself with people who encourage your growth and well-being. Do you need to know what to say to toxic people? I give you a script in my book Self-Care For Today.
3. Worry or Self-Doubt
You were created to live in freedom and confidence in God’s unconditional love. Worry and self-doubt is a trick of the enemy to keep you down cause God did not give you the spirit of fear. Instead choose faith to overcome fear (I give you the exact steps in my book Faith for Today with scriptures to fight this spiritual attack.) The war is over your mind, if the enemy can plaque you then you will feel defeated in battle. But here is the good news- your heavenly father already won the war. So take dominion over your mind, cast down worry, and trust that you can live victoriously.
4. Busyness
You can have ease and balance in your life. Instead of being busy train your mind to receive the ease and abundance of God by tapping into what is already available to you. Take deep breaths, ground yourself in the stillness of God. The very air you breath is an example of the abundance of God. Take time with God and he will direct your path, allow him to guide you toward purpose and productivity. He will never tell you to hurt your well-being with busyness because the more well you are the better able he can use you.
A Final Word
Congrats you made it to the end. So which one of the above do you struggle with? Don't worry, I've been there and had to learn to release all 4 before I started to master my self-care. It's been a journey filled with trails and error but I'm grateful that I made it to the other side. It's nice over here. So I hope you find the courage to give up these 4 things and join me because Self-Care Is A Journey Worth Taking.
